Community Life

Hospitality

Blessing Baskets

A ministry featuring an array of delicious sweets and other food items, home baked with love and prayers by dedicated parish volunteers and placed into "blessing baskets". These lovely gifts provide a way to express a warm welcome to new parishioners, thoughtfulness to those experiencing times of loss or celebration.

Parish Hospitality Committee

Provides set up and clean up of parish hall for parish events, Whole Community Catechesis brunches, and miscellaneous receptions.

Sunday Hospitality

Individuals and families periodically providing and serving baked goods and/or snacks in the parish hall after the 8:00am and 11:00am Sunday liturgies. (Parish provides coffee, lemonade and paper supplies.) The sign up sheet is located in the Parish Hall. All are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Social Fundraisers

Dinners, BBQ's, Breakfasts

Our social fundraisers are designed to provide opportunity throughout the year for gathering together and sharing over meals.  Different groups and people provide preparation of food, beverages and parish hall for fundraising events.

These events are scheduled periodically throughout the year.

Prayer

Communal Prayer Services

Once a year we provide a healing service, celebrating the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. This Sacrament is also provided for parishioners who are anticipating surgery.

Prayer Chain Ministry

Parish volunteers are contacted via email and asked to offer prayers and spiritual presence for persons who request prayerful support.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

A bi-monthly gathering of knitters, crocheters and "wanna-be's" who come together to learn, pray and share their craft for others in the parish and larger community during their times of sorrow and joy. As they create shawls, their handiwork becomes an expression of their love as well as the loving care of God who works through them. As each is knitted in prayer, that prayer is given in love to surround those who are ill, alone, dying or experiencing difficulty.

Silent Prayer Vigil

Nativity Silent Prayer Vigil for peace is every Wednesday 12:15pm - 12:45pm.
You are invited to this silent prayer before the Cross; no spoken words, no music, no incense - only our silent prayer of sitting in God's presence and listening.

Soaking Prayer for Women

One or two times each year, a Soaking Prayer evening is offered for women. Through a simple format of song, story and ritual, women are led to a prayer of the heart where they can minister to one another in the presence of God's unconditional love. Women come for a variety of reasons to give thanks and to seek healing.
